The Bragança Private Hospital, located in the heart of the city, was created to address gaps in healthcare services in the Trás-os-Montes region. 

The project began with the renovation and expansion of an existing building, originally composed of a long, linear volume and a smaller, perpendicular wing that once housed a higher education institution.

The intervention aimed to adapt the structure to meet the functional requirements of a hospital while also expanding it to incorporate a Residential Care Facility for the elderly. 

Adjacent to the original building, a new elongated volume was constructed, complemented by two smaller, perpendicular wings designed for the new residential facility. 

One of the key challenges of this project was ensuring a seamless integration of all volumes, both architecturally and in terms of user circulation, allowing the complex to function as a cohesive whole. A strong focus on functionality, comfort, and accessibility guided the design, resulting in a space that balances efficiency with well-being.
