Palazzo Carlotti is one of Verona’s most remarkable examples of Baroque architecture—an architectural rarity in the city, celebrated for both its grandeur and commanding presence. Its magnificence derives not only from the impressive scale of the building but also from its prestigious location, elegantly positioned between Corso Cavour
and Via Diaz, directly facing the historic Porta Borsari.

The restoration project stemmed from the vision of a private company seeking to establish its headquarters in the palazzo’s prestigious piano nobile. The intervention focused on meticulously restoring the interiors, upgrading modern technologies and systems to meet contemporary standards while preserving the building’s historical integrity.

Respecting the original architectural layout and spatial flow, the renovation aimed to
maintain the sequence of rooms and the natural circulation paths. Pre-existing passages were carefully reopened, while minimal divisions were introduced using elegant glass partitions and bespoke furnishings. This approach ensured the necessary functional separation for modern use while preserving the perception of the original spaces, allowing for easy reconfiguration in the future if needed.

Every intervention was designed to be subtle and entirely reversible, safeguarding the
original finishes and structural elements. The result is a refined, functional space that
meets today’s needs without compromising the palazzo’s historic character—an approach that not only revitalizes Palazzo Carlotti but also enriches the surrounding urban fabric.
