A house in the countryside, where the owners spent their childhood, was renovated for leisure time. Alongside the holistic renovation of the envelope, the attic was transformed into a social gathering space. Before the renovation, the attic was unfinished, uninsulated, and used only for storing unnecessary things. During the roof renovation, new VELUX roof windows were installed. 

The central idea of the project is the interplay of volumes and spaces between them. Roof windows bring daylight deep into the space and add height above the bathtub. By opening roof windows on both sides, effective natural ventilation is ensured. Sunlight creates a pleasant atmosphere, while external shades prevent overheating. Bathing space, reading nook, fireplace, daylight, and unique objects create the relaxing ambiance of the hedonistic attic.

Due to bad condition, the façade windows were also replaced. An energy renovation of the entire house was carried out. The clients desired space for books, storage, a fireplace and a cozy reading niche by the window. A small spa with a sauna was added during the functional design.

Cubic cabinets provide a backdrop and display surfaces for books, souvenirs, and family items. Spaciousness is enhanced by the full attic height and exposed wooden roof parts. The space is oriented in all directions, with large windows on the east and west gable facades. Roof windows bring daylight deep into the space and add height above the bathtub. Shades of green were chosen to harmonize the natural light. By opening roof windows on both sides, effective natural ventilation is ensured. High installed, electrical roof window above the spa area "also provide ventilation and daylight."
