Renacer Villa

Project Description

The Renacer villa represents a comprehensive reimagining of a traditional structure, transforming it into a modern architectural statement. The project involved not only the addition of a significant extension but also a complete overhaul of both the interior and exterior, including the landscaping. The entire mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems were upgraded to meet contemporary standards, effectively shifting the villa’s design narrative from classical to modern. The use of high-end materials, bespoke furnishings, and custom-designed art pieces integrates luxury with a sense of intimate comfort, making the villa both a retreat and a work of art.

Project / Client’s Brief

The client’s brief emphasized a desire for a minimalist, yet luxurious environment that bridges the gap between classical and modern design philosophies. They requested a design that would reflect timeless elegance, using bespoke elements tailored to their specific needs. The goal was to create a living space that is sophisticated yet approachable, with each element serving both an aesthetic and functional purpose.

Concept

The concept driving the Renacer villa’s redesign was rooted in the principles of modern minimalism, enriched with luxurious materials and finishes. The design sought to create a harmonious balance between openness and intimacy, ensuring that each space within the villa felt connected yet distinct. The integration of bespoke art pieces, custom rugs, and carefully selected crystal chandeliers were key to achieving this balance, each element contributing to the overall narrative of refined luxury.

Various Design Elements

The villa’s design is characterized by the use of bespoke elements, each tailored to enhance the villa’s aesthetic coherence. Custom art pieces, specifically commissioned for the space, serve as focal points in various rooms, while bespoke rugs add texture and warmth to the minimalist interiors. The use of bespoke crystal chandeliers not only illuminates the spaces but also adds a sculptural element, bridging the gap between functionality and art.

About the Execution

Executing the vision for the Renacer villa required a delicate approach, particularly in terms of structural changes and the integration of modern systems into an existing classical framework. The full redesign of the villa’s exterior was a significant undertaking, involving the extension of the villa to accommodate additional rooms and spaces, including a dedicated cinema room and a gym designed to be converted into a separate suite for an extended family in the future. This extension was not merely an add-on but a seamless integration that required precise civil work to maintain structural integrity while enhancing the villa’s spatial dynamics.

The interior renovation was equally comprehensive. The previous classical design was entirely removed, making way for a modern aesthetic that involved substantial demolition and rebuilding. Every aspect of the interior was rethought, from the layout to the finishes, ensuring that the new design was not only visually stunning but also deeply functional.

About the Ambience

The ambience within the Renacer villa is one of understated luxury, where every corner exudes a sense of coziness without sacrificing sophistication. The carefully curated color palette is soothing, with muted tones that allow the quality of materials and bespoke furnishings to take center stage. The design intent was to create spaces that feel lived-in and comfortable yet unmistakably luxurious, providing a sanctuary that is both visually and physically inviting.

Challenges Overcome

The transformation of the Renacer villa was not without its challenges. The project demanded the complete demolition of much of the existing structure, requiring extensive civil works that included the reconfiguration of the villa’s foundational elements to support the new design. Additionally, the timeline was tight, necessitating a highly coordinated effort among various contractors and suppliers to ensure that the project was completed to the highest standards without delay. The extension of the villa posed its own set of challenges, particularly in terms of integrating new spaces seamlessly with the existing structure, all while ensuring that the updated MEP systems were fully operational and in line with the new design.

Unique / Key Features

Key to the villa’s distinctiveness are the bespoke elements tailored specifically to the client’s tastes and needs. The custom-designed furniture pieces are not merely decorative but are engineered to meet specific requirements in terms of size, shape, and functionality. The feature staircase, with its elegant lines and use of natural marble, serves as both a practical and visual centerpiece, embodying the villa’s overall design philosophy of blending form with function.

Technical Elements

The technical execution of the Renacer villa was as demanding as its aesthetic design. All mechanical systems were overhauled, addressing and resolving issues left by previous contractors. The installation of new MEP systems required careful planning and execution to ensure that they were compatible with the villa’s modern design while meeting the highest standards of efficiency and safety. The feature staircase, illuminated with concealed LED strips, not only enhances the architectural flow of the villa but also integrates advanced lighting technology to create a dynamic and inviting atmosphere.

Material Selection

The selection of materials for the Renacer villa was driven by a commitment to quality and durability, without compromising on aesthetic appeal. Natural marble, used extensively in both flooring and bespoke furniture pieces, provides a sense of continuity throughout the villa. The choice of champagne-colored metal profiles adds a touch of warmth and contrast, enhancing the villa’s overall palette. Each material was chosen not only for its visual impact but also for its ability to withstand the rigors of daily use, ensuring that the villa remains both beautiful and functional for years to come.

Furniture Chosen

Furniture selection for the Renacer villa was a careful process, focusing on bespoke pieces crafted by local artisans to match the family’s specific needs. The emphasis was on comfort and practicality, with each piece designed to offer support and ease, from the height of backrests to the choice of fabric textures. The result is a collection of furniture that not only complements the villa’s design but also enhances the living experience, making each space in the villa both luxurious and welcoming.
