With a VELUX Sloped Extension you expand the view to the garden or street below by combining any variant of the regular VELUX roof window with a fixed roof window element. The fixed lower part of the window ensures safety, especially in children's rooms.
The two windows can be installed with a slim connection so they blend almost seamlessly together. The fixed window element fills the sloping space between the floor and the bottom of the roof window to provide more expansive views and more daylight.
For a wider view and an amazing connection to the outdoors, VELUX Sloped Extension windows can be installed in pairs for an extended experience with floor-to-ceiling windows.
Roof pitch: 15-90°
Operation: The VELUX Sloped extension consists of a combination of a top window and a bottom window,.
The top window can either be a manual, solar-powered or electric-operated window. Solar-powered and electric-operated windows offer fresh air at the touch of a button. They also feature a rain sensor that automatically closes the window in case of rain.
The top window can have one of two opening functions:
- Centre-pivot with top-operated opening: perfect for daylight and ventilation benefits and easy to operate even with furniture below
- Top-hung with bottom-operated opening: allows for any opening position up to an angle of 45° for a panoramic view
Both variants can be rotated for easy cleaning.
The bottom window is a fixed window element.
Interior finish: The VELUX Sloped Extension comes with a choice of different interior finishes to match most contemporary interiors.
- White maintenance-free finish: This is the most durable and robust finish. The waterproof polyurethane coating is smooth and seamless so the window is easy to clean and completely maintenance-free. This finish is recommended for all room styles.
- White-painted finish: A water-based lacquer protects the wood frame from normal levels of dirt and moisture. This finish is suitable for use in all rooms. However, in humid rooms, such as kitchens and bathrooms, the maintenance-free finish is recommended.
- Clear lacquer: For a more traditional wooden look, the pine wood is treated with a water-based lacquer for a warmer, more natural finish. This finish is suitable for use in all rooms. However, in humid rooms, such as kitchens and bathrooms, the maintenance-free finish is recommended.
Materials: In the white painted and clear lacquer finishes, the frames and sashes are made of high-quality laminated pinewood coated with impregnation and layers of water-based acrylic clear lacquer or white paint. The white maintenance-free finish has white polyurethane moulded around the wooden core.
