Villa CM: a journey through time

Restoring a historic residence means more than repairing a building—it’s a dialogue with the past, a commitment to beauty and memory. This was the guiding spirit behind the conservative restoration of Villa CM, a stunning 19th-century villa in the heart of Castelfranco Veneto, brought back to its former glory by the Studio Architetti Giampietro e Stefano Cinel.

Built in 1850, Villa CM is a refined example of period residential architecture, featuring an elegant, richly decorated façade, a noble floor, and a classical Italian-style garden that opens onto the central Piazza Giorgione. Before the restoration, the villa showed clear signs of aging, unsuitable alterations from the 1970s, and even damage from a World War II bombing.

The restoration followed a philological approach, in close collaboration with the Heritage Authority and the client. Every element was carefully studied, restored, or reproduced using traditional 19th-century techniques: from the painstakingly recovered façade to the garden, redesigned based on the original layout in partnership with landscape architect Pamela Nichele.

A key part of the project was the restoration of the windows and frames, developed together with Impronta, a leading company in high-end window solutions. The selected models—such as the Compact collection, in wood and aluminum—combine minimal aesthetics, historical sensitivity, and high energy performance, bringing the villa to an impressive A4 energy class, a rare achievement for a listed property. Triple glazing, slim profiles, and hidden motorized systems allow the windows to enhance the architecture without altering its historic character.

Today, Villa CM is much more than a restored building: it is a place that proudly tells its story, striking a perfect balance between tradition and innovation. A small architectural jewel, now ready to shine once more—rooted in the past, open to the future.
